The diagramm shows the life cycle of the honey bee, illustrating several stages from egg to maturity. Overall, the process consists of six main stages and takes approximately 34 to 36 days to complete.
The initial stage begins when female adult bees lay one to two eggs every three days. After being laid, the eggs take around nine to ten days to hatch, producing nymphs. During their growth, nymph moults three times as they develop. The first moult takes five days after hatching, followed by the second moult seven days later, and the third one after nine days.
Following a final moult, a young adult bee emerges. Over the next four days, it continues to mature until fully grown adult bee. Once mature, the adult bee becomes capable of laying eggs, and the entire life cycle begins again.
