The diagram illustrates the process by which a company named HB Office Recycling recycles unwanted office furniture and tools from other businesses. Overall, the entire process entails three distinct stages, starting from collecting disgarded items, followed by sorting steps and finishing with the distribution of new products.
In the initial phase of the whole process, disgarded furniture and equipment such as desks, computers, and armchairs are collected from businesses, before transporting via heavy duty vehicles to HB Office Recycling Ltd. Once at the office, items are undergone sorting process, enabling the company to recycle the tools accurately.
Sorting process includes 4 types of materials. In the first priority of process, reusable materials are given to charities, schools and customers as a second-hand good. Meanwhile, second priority consists of manufacturing process, using repaired and new parts of items, after which being purchased by customers. In the third priority, materials sorted into plastics, metals, and wood, before transporting recycling centre. Finally, non-recyclable ones, 2% of whole items, are thrown away landfill sites.
