The illustration explains the way in which unwanted office furniture and equipment are recycled for other businesses.
It is clear that there are three main stages on the diagram, beginning from sending the items to recycling. The final step show how unwanted objects are sorted to the recycling center.
To begin, furniture and equipment are picked up from business by HB Office Recycling lorry and delivered to the company. Once, there items such as desks, chairs and computers are sorted into four categories. The first priority is reuse, items in a good condition are directly sent to charities, customers and schools. The second is remanufacturing, where the old items are fixed and then sold to customers.
The third step is a material recycling, in which items are separated into plastics, metals and wood and then sent to a recycling centre. Finally, a small portion of items that cannot be recycled (2%) are sent to landfill sites.
