Overall, there are approximately six stages in the process of rainwater harvesting, beginning with the collection of rain to the delivery of treated potable drinking water to each of the houses.
Firstly, rain is caught on the rooftops of houses and runs down through a system of connected drain pipes which lead to a water filter. Once the water has been filtered, it then moves through the pipes to a large storage tank.
When the water is needed it is transferred through another pipe to a water treatment tank where it is treated with chemicals to make it safe to drink. Finally, once the water has been treated, it is then pumped through another set of pipes that connects to each of the individuals houses where residents can access it through their water facets.
