The image depicts different kinds in the neuron cell, namely the cell body, dendrites, axon, action potential, myelin sheath, terminal buttons and how it functions.

In general, it is clear that there are five components in the cell. Every one of them is built in a certain way and has a special function.

The main cell called soma, which is the control center of all life activities, plays an essential role in the survival of cells. Nearby it, the dendrites specialise for receiving incoming messages from adjacent neurons. Besides that, the axon which sends messages away from the cell body to other neurons, muscles or glands. The myelin is the surrounding axon that has some neurons and helps speed neural impulses. At the end of the body, the terminal buttons connected with the tails of the cell in order to form junctions with other cells. Furthermore, it also has the action potential and it transmits the signal by electricity.
