Overall, the process entails several steps broadly grouped into nine distinct stages: beginning with the planting bamboo, followed by harvesting and culminating with ready-made fabrics. Notably, the procedure is a complex one, which requires both machinery and human labor involvement. In addition, the whole process is time consuming, which takes place over six months.
Initially, bamboo is planted in spring and harvested in autumn. After that, the bamboo is cut into strips using a machine. Next, the strips are crushed by machinery to produce liquid pulp.
Then, the pulp is filtered to separate the long fibres. After filtering, the fibres are softened by adding water and amine oxide. In the next stage, the fibres are spun into yarn using a spinning machine.
Following this, the yarn is woven by a weaving machine to produce fabric. In the final stage, the fabric is used to make clothes such as T-shirts and socks.
