Band 9: The diagram shows the process of growing bananas for selling in supermarkets. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

The diagram explains how bananas are produced before they are bought in shops.

Overall, it is clear that there are seven main stages beginning with the growing stage and ending with the purchase stage.

First of all, the bananas are grown for between nine months and a year. The temperature should be between 25-30°C and they need plenty of rain. After that, the bananas are picked when they are still green. During the checking stage, the good bananas are kept and the bad ones are thrown away. This careful selection is crucial in maintaining high standards before the shipping stage commences, wherein the bananas are transported in temperature-controlled environments set at 13.3°C to preserve their freshness.

The next resting phase occurs in specialized rooms conducive to ripening, where the bananas transition to their characteristic yellow hue. The ripe fruit is then packed into lorries and delivered to the supermarkets. Finally, customers buy bananas when they are shopping.
