The diagram illustrates the stages involved in the production of smoked fish from fresh fish. It is evident from the illustration how fish is processed into usable smoked fish products in the shop. Overall, the fish undergoes seven steps in the shop before being transformed into finished smoked fish. The process begins with catching the fish and concludes with smoked fish being frozen.
In the initial stages, the fish are caught using nets. Then, they are transported by ship from the port, and immediately transferred to freezer boxes where the fish are placed in fresh water. After the fish are prepared, they are cut, and some ingredients such as saltwater and yellow coloring are added.
Later, the fish are heated. As soon as they are well-cooked, they are turned, then placed in boxes, and subsequently frozen. After freezing, the fish are distributed to shops by lorry. Finally, the smoked fish is sold.
