The diagram shows the skeletal systems or two ancestors of modern human being.
The provided diagram compares two types of skeleton or two prehistoric human bodies. Overall, the skeletal systems experienced numerous significant changes such as the enlargement of the internal organs and the construction of several muscles. It is also worth noting that individuals evolved from a tree climber to an endurance runner.
Focusing on Australopithecus structure, this skeleton contained an unbalanced head with a long snout and high, narrow shoulders; whereas internal organs were wide and long. In the lower part, their legs were formed from small hips, knees and ankle joints, which had short achilles tendon, tiny heelbone and partial foot arch inside it; however, they had long toes outside.
Regarding Homo Erectus, this system saw considerable transformations throughout the timeframe. The head became balanced with short snout, shoulders shaped lower and wider, while large internal organs shaped narrow and shorter. Looking at the legs, their three main parts formed larger, where foot arch stabilized and toes decreased in size.
