The scheme demonstrates the structure of tidal power plant and the process of generating electricity from the energy of water waves.
Overall, the structure is placed on the edge of seashore and the process of producing electricity consists of two stages. The process begins with the wave coming to the sea wall and ends with wave retracting back. On both stages the force of pushed air spins the generator thus producing electricity.
Firstly, figure A shows the moment when the water wave approaches the sea wall. The wave is captured into the closed chamber and it’s force pushes the air out through the column. When the air leaves the column it spins the turbine.
Additionally, figure B shows the following moment when the water retracts from the cliff or sea wall. The air from the outside rushes back to the chamber and spins the turbine futher in the same direction.
