The pictures illustrate the change that took place between 1800 and 2000 in a town called Brindell.
Overall, the town underwent a number of dramatic changes, the most important of which was the transformation from a primarily agricultural and woodland into urbanized area with the increase in industrialization.
To begin with, there used to be farmland for raising animals in the south-east of Brindell in 1800, but it has been developed into an industrial area, which was accompanied by the construction of new manufactures and the village for workers – “Bun Hill”. To the north – east of the town, the woodland has been reduced while the farmland for crops remained the same and the river was still a defining feature catering for providing water for farmland. Moreover, the town of Brindell expanded slightly for a 100 year period.
Turning to 1900 to 2000, Brindell shifted into a large industrialized area. The industrial zone expanded considerably, with the increase in numbers of factories and the enlargement of the “Bun Hill” to meet the high demand of workers. The new Bun Hill park was built, replacing most of the woodland area there. Finally, the town of Brindell was expanded significantly, with river still flowed through the area
