The given illustration describes the stages in the lifetime of a silkworm, as well as how silk clothes are made from cocoon’s of silkworms.
Overall, we can clearly see that while life of a silkworm has 4 stages, from laying eggs to adult moth, manifacturing silk clothes is more complicated; therefore it has 6 key stages.
According to the cycle, first of all, a female moth lays its eggs. After around 10 days the eggs hatch and the larvae start eating a mulberry leaf. This stage lasts 4-6 weeks until the larvae get covered in silk threads. It takes larvae approximately 3-8 days to become a moth, and finally leave a cocoon after her.
As can be seen in table data, production of a silk clothes starts by selecting cocoons, which are boiled in the water in order for 300-900m threads to be unwound. Thereafter, several of them are twisted together. It can either died immediately after twisting stage, or it might be sent to be woven.
