Overall, saving money was the main reason for working from home. Additionally, most males dedicated over 30 hours per week to home-based work, while the majority of females spent less than 10 hours per week.
In 2019, saving money was the primary reason for home-working, reported by 45% of males and 42% of females.Meanwhile, 24% of male workers chose home-based work for higher productivity, compared to just 11% of females. Additionally, 26% of women worked from home to better care for their children, which is six times higher than the proportion of men who gave this reason.
Regarding the time distribution for home-working, the majority of females dedicated less than 10 hours a week to work, at 74%, as opposed to 3% of males. However, most males spent over 30 hours per week home-based working, at 80%, while only 6% of females did the same.Furthermore,almost the same percentage of both genders channeled 10 to 30 hours a week to home-working, at 16% for males and 22% for females.
