The bar chart and the table below displays the distribution of reasons and time for men and women working from home, in 2019.
Upon analysis of the causes, we find that most males prefer home-based jobs for improved efficiency and financial management, sitting at 24% and 45% respectively. Both of these values are higher than the girls, operating for the same reason. Females, on the other hand, overwhelm the opposite gender when it comes to easier childcare, having a surplus of 22%. However, like men, most women choose telecommuting to save cash, as expressed by the pink bar standing at 42%.
In terms of time, maximum females(74%) work less than 10 hours per week from their residence. Conversely, just 3% of males have an equal time. In the case of 10-30 hour weeks, the magnitude is relatively similar. 16% of men are categorized in this sector as do 22% of all women. Lastly, for remote tasks lasting for over thirty hours, the situation is virtually reversed. It contains only 6% of the entire female populace compared to the 81% of gents.
Overall, we can observe that males tend to telecommute for longer periods, for economical and productive reasons. Girls however, opt for maternal grounds although the focus is mostly monetary.
