Overall, the park underwent significant redevelopment over the ten-year period, with a number of new recreational and visitor facilities being introduced. However, the football ground remained unchanged.
In the northern part of the park, the tennis courts and the car park were both expanded, with the latter increasing its capacity from 20 to 50 cars. The children’s play area was also enlarged and divided into two separate sections, namely a standard play area and a children’s soft play area. In addition, a cycling path was constructed around the perimeter of the park.
In the southern section, the pond was replaced by a boating area. New amenities were also added, including a picnic area in the south-west corner, a café in the south-east corner, and a public toilet located between the children’s play area and the café. Despite these developments, the football ground in the centre of the park remained exactly the same throughout the period.
