This bar chart illustrates dietary intake of fast food among men and women from different age groups in the year 2015.
Overall, younger generation consumed highest proportion of daily calories from fast food and senior citizens consumed the lowest amount of fast food. In all the four age groups dietary intake of men was unhealthier than women.
In men, highest amount of calories from fast food were consumed by adults in the age group 18-34 which was around 17%, followed by age group 35-49 years and 50-64 with average percentage of calorie intake around 10.5% and 9% respectively. However lowest amount of calories were consumed by age group 65+ which was only 4.5%.
In women, a similar pattern was observed among all the age groups where women of younger generation tend to consume unhealthy fast food more than the old women. Proportion of daily calorie intake for the age group 18-34 was around 16%, followed by age group 35-49 and 50-64, marking 9.5% and 8.5% respectively. Elderly women from the age group 65+ consumed only 3.5% calories from fast food.
