The line graph illustrates the development in the inhabitants of Scotland from 1940 to 2020. The parameters shown in this graph were the Birth Rate, Population Growth Rate, and Death Rate of Scotland.
Overall, as can be seen from the chart, the birth rate, population growth rate, and death rate in Scotland tended to decrease. However, the mortality rate increased after 2010.
On the one hand, the fertility rate was highest in 1940; it was around 2.5%. However, from 1950 to 1970, it fluctuated from 2.0% to 1.0%. Besides that, the percentage of birth rate shifts during 5 years was reduced to 0%. Following this, the fatality proportion decreased sharply for two and a half years. While it remained steady from 1960 to 2010 at under zero. Finally, in 2020, it increased steadily to under 1.0%.
On the other hand, the population rate started with fewer decreases in the same year, rising sharply to 1.5 over 2 years. However, from 1960 to 1980, the percentage of the population density reached a higher rate than the mortality rate. By 2000, it dropped to under zero.
