The first chart illustrates how many people travel by train between 2000 and 2009, with the punctuality of the train system.
Overall, there was an upward fluctuation in the number of guests over the given period while with the exception of 2 years from 2004, most trains ran punctually. Moreover, it can be seen in the picture, the figures for trains running on time remained unchanged.
At the beginning of the period, around 40 billion passengers traveled by train, there was a moderate increase in the next two years, reaching a peak of roughly 49 billion in 2005, despite a slight drop in 2003. Between 2005 and 2008, the figure of 49 billion visitors declined gradually by 9 billion before a subsequent recovery to approximately 45 billion in the final year.
On the other graph, during that time, the on-time target was always set at 95%. Meanwhile train punctuality decreases significantly from 92-96 percent four years later, then dropped substantially to the same level in 2005. It then jumped to a high of 97% before there remained a steady change of time frame.
