The diagram illustrates the steps of how a book is published. Overall, the procedure includes nine stages, starting with preparing the drafts and ending with the distribution of the book to the shops. The whole process takes approximately 18 to 24 months.
Initially, the author writes the manuscript and sends it to the publishing house. The draft manuscript is reviewed and the errors are corrected by the editors, with necessary revisions being made to ensure it meets professional standards. After the writing has been approved and fulfills the standards, the publishing company and the author sign a formal contract.
Then, the stage of designing the layout begins, before choosing the proper covers and the whole appearance. When the final design reaches approval, it is then sent to be printed. Following this, all the printed materials are bound into the form of the book. Finally, all the completed books are distributed to the bookshops.
