The bar graph shows the proportion of Canadian boys and girls who are involved in 4 different types of diversions as their favorites. Overall, in all leisure activities, boys are more active compared to their counterparts except for music, which appeals to both genders equally. Moreover, in terms of sports and shopping are recorded comparatively larger distinctions between the shares of teenage boys and girls.
To begin, boys are more actively involved in playing computer games than girls in Canada, having a 17% presence in this activity. However, 14% of girls state that they are interested in spending time playing computer games in this country. As for music, both genders present equal interests with 19%, in which the majority of girls are involved.
For the remaining activities, sports and shopping, boys show greater interest than girls since these free-time activities are subject to more significant differences. While 26% of boys take up sports as hobbies, the same date for females is much lower with 11%. Apart from that, the boys’ most-chosen activity is considered shopping as about 33% of Canadian teenage boys are involved in shopping. Meanwhile, girls show the least longing for this leisure with a mere 6% in Canada.
