This column graph illustrates the numbers of magazines sold (measured in thousands) across five different countries–France, the United States, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Spain–in 2005, 2015, and 2025.
Overall, it is evident that the amount of magazines sold varied significantly among these countries, with France, the United States, and the United Kingdom show a downward trend while Italy experienced a temporary surge before a rapid decline. And Spain maintained the lowest, most stable figures.
In 2005, France recorded the highest magazine sales at approximately 40,000 copies, followed by the US at around 33,000. Over the next decade, sales in France dipped slightly to roughly 37,000 and are predicted to fall further to about 35,000 by 2025. Similarly, the US witnessed a steady decrease, with figures dropping to around 31,000 in 2015 and an anticipated final decline to just 25,000 by 2025.
Regarding the remaining nations, the UK saw its sales shrink from 23,000 in 2005 to about 20,000 in 2015, with a further drop to 15,000 forecasted for 2025. Conversely, Italy’s magazine market grew significantly from roughly 13,000 in 2005 to peak at 21,000 in 2015, surpassing the UK; however, this figure is expected to plummet to under 10,000 by 2025. Meanwhile, sales in Spain remained negligible and constant, hovering around 5,000 across all three years.
