The charts shows the proportion of residents by age groups in China, starting from 1960 and finish with data’s future in 2050.
Overall, the age group separated into three groups; children (0-14), productive age (15-64), and elderly (65+). In the earlier year, majority population was on children age while the minority was on the senior citizens. The productive age will be reached the maximum of population in the future, whereas the children age will project at the lowest proportion.
To begin with, in 1960, the minors and productive age both had a tiny gap of population above 35% residents whereby the minors are the majority during the period. However, the productive age experienced rise to 70% in 2020 and it forecast to drop roughly 53%. A divergence situation with the minors, which was already decrease from 1960 and it expect to continue fall in the future. As for 15-64 years old, they recorded at the lowest point in 1960 which below 17,5% but it will growing until reach highest number than before in 2050.
