While the table illustrates the water consumption in Brazil and Congo in 2000, information is given about using the water for irrigated land and per person of population in volume of water.

Overall, rates of water use worldwide in agriculture, industrial use and domestic use were continued their upward trend over the period, whereas the water consumption in Brazil in 2000 was 359 m3 per person in the population of 176 million and irrigated land 26,500 km3, in Congo it was 8 m3 per person in the population of 5,2 million and irrigation area 100 km3.

At start industrial and domestic use sectors used the water just over 5 or 10 km3, while the agricultural sector used the water about 500 km3. After that all indicators rise significantly from start level to about just over 1500 km3 in agriculture and around 10 and 30 km3 in domestic use and industrial use respectively between 1900 and 1980.

There was sharp increase in water use in agriculture and industrial use until 2000 when they peak a high themselves of 3000 and about 1200 km3 respectively, but in domestic use it rose slightly til 2000 and changing so negligible.

The water consumption in Brazil was very higher than in Congo in 2000, although irrigated land in Brazil on 265-fold bigger and different of population in two countries anormal figure.
