Overall, in terms of gender, while men were inclined to prefer Engineering, Science and Maths, women were more likely to select Social and Sciences, Health and Humanities. Notably, Agriculture was the solely subject that received equal representation of both sexes.
Among all disciplines, Social and Sciences was the most favorable subject, with figures for both male and female applicants surpassing others, totaling roughly 7,000 students. This was nearly twice as the data for Engineering registration, which ranked second. Next came Humanities and Health, which ranged approximately 2,800 and 2,600 applicants, respectively.
On the other hand, Science and Maths as well as Agriculture received the least favored among both male and female students. Regarding the former, there was around 2,000 registrations, which was almost 4 times higher than the latter, at under 500 students.
