The bar chart delineates the number of university students choosing various courses that university offered in 2012. Overall, the dominance of females could be seen in all courses, with the exception of engineering and science and math training courses. Similarly, the social sciences sector was far more prevalent among both genders, while science and math ended up being the most preferred occupation for males. Agriculture ranked last in preference.
With regard to female students, they favored social sciences, health and humanities more. The largest number of female students topped the list in terms of social sciences, at a whopping 4000, which was distantly followed by health and humanities, with the numbers of ranging between 2000 and 1500.
As for males’ preferences, for them, the paramount sectors were social sciences, engineering and science and math, with the former attracted almost 3000 students – the second highest figure in the entire graph. Coming close behind was the engineering sector with just above 2000. Another sector that showed interest of around 1050 male students was science and math. Finally, agriculture showed the lowest number of students enrolled for both genders, with a mere of around 300, lagged far behind.
