The line graph illustrates the quantities of goods transported by four different types of vehicles in UK, between 1974 and 2002. Overall, the transporting of foods by road was the largest quantity over the period, while a pipeline was the lowest proportion. Also, by water was levelled off for many years, whereas by rail was slightly fluctuated over the period.
In 1974, things that booked transported by road was around 70 million tonnes, whereas by pipeline was approximately at 10 million tonnes. By pipeline drammaticly increased to 25 millions of tonnes, while transporting by road was a gradual decrease in 1982. Between 1994 and 2002, transporting by pipeline stabilizied at 20 proportion, when by road reached a peak arounf 90 million tonnes.
The rail transported things exactly at 40 million tonnes in 1974, then it plummeted about 30,000,000 tonnes in 1986. After that, by rail was fluctuated over the period. Transporting by water was around 38 million tonnes at the beginning of the period. In 1978, by water was significantly rise about 50 million tonnes. From 1982 to 1994, by water stayed constant.
