Overall, having cars, more than one car, increased over the period of 1971 to 2007, and also, the percentage of ownership of no car, significantly decreased. N the other hand, the range of having one car and three or more cars were almost steady, with a little increase in three or more cars, from 1971 to 2007.
In 1971, as shown in the graph, less than 10% of Britain population had more than on car and the percentage of owing 3 cars or more was near zero. Likewise, some 45% had one care and the rate of owing no automobile was about 50% which was the most.
Over the period of 35 years, significant changes occur. The rate of population which have no car was declined with fast speed and become less than 30%, also, the percentage of people who have two cars rising from about ten percent in 1971 to some 27% in 2007. Furthermore, owing of three cars and more of that, increased up to near 8% during these 35 years. As well, the proportion of having only a car, was steady around 45% of population.
