The line graph indicates the changes in the rate of birth and death in New Zealand in two centuries.
Overall, the birth figure experiences more fluctuations than the death figure which has an almost continuous rising trend.
In 1901, the birth ratio stood at 20 and had risen to just under 30 by 1911 but suddenly it had reached its highest point with a dramatic increase to around 65 in 1981, however, after that the birth figure had a fluctuated decrease and is expected to reach a little more than 40 in 2101. The death trend was slightly under 10 in 1901 and has had a significant growth over the years which is predicted to peak at just below 60 in 2061, while, it will change minimally at the end of its trend.
By 2041, both figures are expected to reach the same rate (about 50).
