Overall, we can see that residents in the United State tends to spend more of their income on gasses compared to those in the United Kingdom, particularly the poorest groups. However this gap narrows as income level rise, with two countries showing similar figures for wealthier households.
Amongst the poorest groups, American spend about 4% of their income on fuels which is significantly higher than UK which rests just below 1%. Lower middle-class residents are spending a tad bit more and peaked to 5% while UK’s spendings are ascending. For the middle income households, fuel spending has started to to decline towards 4% for the Americans but increasing towards 4% for the UK residents.
In contrast, the wealthier household of American citizens proceed to decline just below 3% of income spending. Meanwhile, the UK figure are relatively stable at just above 3%, meaning that wealthier britons tend to spend more of their income towards fuel compared to americans.
