The bar chart shows the pursuits that are widespread among children from various age categories in the US as part of their sleep schedules. Overall, while reading is the most common activity among children across all age groups, the opposite is true for eating and watching TV as part of their bedtime routine. Additionally, brushing teeth is mostly popular with the children from the age groups of 4 to 5 and 6 to 8, whereas having a bath is common among those from 1 to 3 years old.
Focusing on the larger figures first, reading was the most commonly engaged activity for those 4- to 5-year-old group, which accounted for 70%, followed by children 1- to 3-year-old, with roughly 65%, and children between the ages of 6 and 8, with just under 60%. For brushing teeth, the proportion of those aged from 4 to 5 and 6- to 8-year-old was the largest, with respective figures of 50% and approximately 57%, while the figure for children ranging 1- to 3-year-old accounted for one-third. Meanwhile, children from 1 to 3 years age group were mostly the ones who had a bath, with 40% compared to those between the ages of 4 and 5, with around 36%, and children aged from 6 to 8, which was just over 30%.
In contrast, only 20% of children ranging from 4 to 5 years old watched TV as part of sleep schedule, making it slightly more than those aged between 6 and 8 years old, which was about 8%, and children belong to the group of 1 to 3 years old, with around 16%. Similarly, for eating, the percentage of children from the groups of 4 to 5 years old and 6 to 8 years old were the lowest, with figures of 10% and nearly 10% respectively, whereas the figure for those aged between 1 and 3 years old was 20%, making it twice as much as the others.
