The line graph explicitly illustrates the changes in the number of people joining five different activities in Melbourne, Australia, namely film club, martial arts, amateur dramatics, table tennis, and musical performances, in the period of 20 years.
Generally speaking, film club was the most popular option among the five while table tennis saw a drastic surge in the number of participants after 2010. In addition, amateur dramatics was the only activity that experienced an obvious overall decreasing trend during the given time.
Specially speaking, film club and martial arts remained relatively stable in terms of the number of members, with the former one fluctuating between 60 and 70 people and the latter one between 40 and 30 people. By contrast, the trend of table tennis showed that after 2010, the number of participants skyrocketed culminating at 55 in 2020, making it the second most popular choice.
Amateur dramatics had an opposite trend to musical performances. In the first 5 years, there was no one taking part in musical performances but slightly fewer than 20 in dramatics. Since 2005, the number of people choosing musical performances gradually grew whilst a constant decline was found in the other one. After meeting each other earlier than 2015, they ended at 19 people for musical performances and 7 for amateur dramatics.
