The bar charts provide information about the four categories of citrus fruits and the top three countries to which these were exported, measured in tonnes, in 2012.
Overall, oranges were exported in the largest quantities, followed by grapefruits, while the figures for lemons and other citrus fruits were lower. Additionally, exports of other citrus fruits to Egypt and the US were negligible, whereas South Africa received the largest quantity of oranges.
Focusing on bigger figures first, the amount of oranges exported to South Africa stood at 1000 tonnes, followed distantly by Egypt with 500 tonnes and the United States with around 400 tonnes. The figure for grapefruits exported to Turkey was the highest, at 400 tonnes compared with 300 tonnes for Mexico, which ranked second, and 200 tonnes for the US, which recorded the lowest figure. Interestingly, the figures decreased in same patterns of 100 tonnes between following countries.
In contrast, as for lower figures, the amount of lemons exported to Mexico was around 500 tonnes, making it considerably higher than the US and Argentina, at about 200 and 100 tonnes, respectively. The figure for other citrus fruits showed approximately 500 tonnes in Mexico. The amount of other exported fruit in Egypt recorded as low as the figure for the United States, at about 10 tonnes.
