The line graph is the pictorial representation of different sources of air pollutants in Portugal from 2005 to 2020. It shows the air pollutants from transport, Industry and household in million tones.
Overall, the graph draws a good picture in showing the changes in these sources over all these years. While household remained more stable during all these years, only to decline slighlty, Transport showed a huge decrease between 2005 and 2010.
Transport was the highest source of air pollutants in 2005, hitting 5 million tonnes and saw gradual decrease over the years falling down to 3 million tonnes in 2014 and finally to 2.5 million tonnes in 2020.
In case of Industry, the graph shows a gradual increase from being 1 million tonnes in 2005 to more than 1.5 million tonnes in 2014. Then it increased and is between 1.5-2 million tonnes in 2020.
Household as a source of air pollutant showed the least dangerous source among the three. It decreased from 1 million tonnes in 2005 to 1.5 in 2017, went on to stay the same without any changes till 2020.
