The presented line chart illustrates several origins of air contaminants between 1990 and 2005 in the UK.
A glance at the graph reveals that the amount of air polluntants generated by several sources dropped significantly in these years.
It is clear from the data that in the first 9 years the quantity of air toxic substances suffered a decline with constant rate. In this period of time, pollution caused by industry was the one which decreased the most, almost three million tonnes. Furthermore, in transports remained constant and in households as well.
It is interesting to note that in the last 6 years, the amount of air pollutants originated by transportation remained unchanged. In contrast, households started a downward tendency, reaching almost zero tonnes in 2005. Moreover, from 1999 to 2002, industry continued to fall and after 2002 it reached a plateau. In addition, the total of air contaminants stayed uniform between 1999 and 2002 and it started to go down again in 2002.
