Overall, the production of electricity by nuclear energy has significantly increased throughout the given period and has the maximum share for production. Whereas, the contribution of thermal and hydroelectric sources has remained stagnant. A slight rise was observed in the generation of electricity by renewable sources.
In 1980, nuclear sources were responsible for producing 60 tw-h of energy. A sharp and continuous rise was observed for 25 years and it was producing roughly 425 tw-h. A period of fluctuation took place for 10 years which caused a slight decline, by the end of the given period nuclear energy produced 400 tw-h of current.
A stark difference was noticed in the case of usage of exhaustible resources.From 1980 -2005 they had nearly no contribution in current creation but after 2005 a minor increase was observed in their usage, by 2015 renewable energy was producing less than 50tw-h of electricity.
Contrastingly, the converision of thermal and hydroelectric power to create electricity had decreased in the given period.In 1980, thermal energy generated 125tw-h electricity this figure kept on decreasing a reached an all time low in 1987.It fluctuated until 2015 and had decreased signifcantly, the same was noticed in the case of hydroelectric power.It started off at 60tw-h and fluctuated for 25 years and was at roughly 58 by the end of the mentioned period.
