The line graph illustrates the number of international students from three countries, Iran, Greece and Turkey, who registered at Sheffield University between 2005 and 2009.
Overall, it is clear that the number of Greek students decreased significantly throughout the period, while the figures for Iranian and Turkish students increased substantially.
In 2005, Greece had the highest number of students among three countries, at 180 students. However, it fell noticeably to around 50 students by the end of the period. In contrast, Iran stood at around 40 students in 2005. Despite some fluctuations, it grew noticeably and overtook Greece in 2007 and Turkey in 2008, reaching a peak of 160 students in 2009.
Turkey recorded the lowest figure at only 20 students in 2005. It grew sharply to 90 students in 2007 and overtook Greece. Although there was a marginal decrease, it continued growing and peaked at 130 students by the end of the period.
