The line graph illustrates the number of students from Iran, Greece and Turkey who registered at Sheffield University from 2005 to 2009.
Overall, it is clear that there was a significant increase in the number of Iranian and Turkish students throughout the period. However, the figure for Greek students plummeted sharply, reaching its lowest figure by the end of the period.
In 2005, Greek students showed the highest number, at 180 students, followed by Iranian students, at around 40 students, whereas Turkish students recorded the lowest number, at 20 students. While the figure for Greek students decreased rapidly to 70 students in 2007, the figures for both Iranian and Turkish students rose gradually, reaching the numbers at 70 and 90 students respectively.
Greece was overtaken by Iran and Turkey in 2007 and continued to decrease, reaching its lowest figure at approximately 45 students in 2009. However, the number of students from Iran and Turkey grew sharply, peaking a reach of roughly 160 students and 120 students by the end of the period.
