Starting with the former, after increasing slightly from about 9 to 10 in 2015, the figure for the US is projected to fall gradually to 8 in the next 10 years and continue this movement until 2030 to under 8. Turning to the latter, there was a steady decrease from 4 to approximately 3 in the first 6 years, which is predicted to keep going to 2 in the last year.
The figure for China and the Middle East shared the similar amount of 2 at the beginning and also their upwarding movement. Before experiencing a slow drop to nearly 4 from 2025 to 2030, the oil consumption in China went up gradually to about 3 in 2015, then being forecasted to peak at 4. Meanwhile, there was a slight rise to over 2 in the proportion of oil used in the Middle East in 2015, which will remain stable and meet at approximately 3 in the last year.
