The graph shows information about energy consumption in the UK since 1978 with predictions until 2038. Units are measured in quadrillio.

Overall, petrol and oil are the most consumed energy during the period, while Hydropower energy is the least consumed one.

From 1978 to 2023, there was an upward trend of the petrol and oil consumption. At the begining, the petrol and oil consumption stood at 35 quadrillion, then it fluctuated from 1983 to 1993 before it experienced a significant increase from1998 to 2023. Coal and natural gas energy saw a fluctuated trend from the first year to 2023, which they reached at around 25 quadrillion in 2023. While the remain energy resources did not face any moderate trend.

In addition, the petrol and oil consumption are anticipated to remain the most consumed energy among other energy resources from 2028 to 2038. Also coal energy is predicted to be the second highest consumed energy, then it followed by natural gas consumption during the same period. Furthermore, Nuclear, Solar and wind, and hydropower energy are projected to remain at the same trend during the same period.
