In general, there was a noticeable increase in the number of all crimes in two countries. Notably, the figure for car theft was higher than for any other country throughout the period.
Analyzing the information in greater detail, in 1970, 0.40 million of car theft were recorded in England and Wales, compared to 0.20 million of house burgling and 0.05 of street robbery. Over the subsequent 20 years, England and Wales saw a significant rise in the number of crimes which occurred of car theft about 1.00 million in 1990. Additionally, the figure for house burgling climbed gradually to roughly 0.70 million; however, the number of street robbery which take place in England and Wales remained unchanged to 0.05 million in 1990.
Turning to the other countries, the number of car theft increased rapidly to 1.60 million in 1995, before decreasing to 1.00 million in 2005. Over the next 15 years, the figure for house burgling remained unchanged to 0.70 million in 1995, but later fell slightly to 0.50 million in 2005. On the other hand, the number of crimes which occuring in the two countries of street robbery rise considerably to 0.20 million in 1995, and remained the same year in the final year.
