Overall, the UK commuters travelling per day by car and train witnessed an upward trend while the opposite pattern was seen in the figure for bus. In addition , the average number of UK commuters travelling by car took the lead throughout the period while the figure for the bus the bus was the lowest .
The number of British people travelling by car started at about 5 million in 1970 , with a subsequent gradual increase throughout the period , ending the period at 9 millions in 2030. A Similar change , but to a lesser extent, can be seen in the figure for train, which rising just approximately 2 millions in 1970 to around 4 million in the final year .
The opposite change can be seen in the number of Uk commuters travelling daily by bus . Over 3 millions million were experienced in 1970, followed by a slight decrease throughout the period, eventually reaching 3 millions in 2030.
