Overall, the data reveals that the percentage of people, who liked American football, basketball and some other sports rose over the period, while there was a drop in number of citizens, who were interested in baseball and hockey.
With regards to American football, it was the most favourite sport during 30 years and rose steadily by approximately 10 per cent from just over 36 percent to almost 43. Also, basketball grew significantly from 15 per cent to about 25. Other sports, which were the least popular category, increased to nearly 7 per cent between 1985 and 2015, and eventually were surpassed by the hockey.
In contrast, the percentage of people, whose favourite sport was baseball, was almost the same with Amerian football at the beginning of the period, but by 2015, it has halved. Talking about hockey, it went down moderately by about 6 per cent to its lowest point at 5 per cent in the end of the period.
