The provided line graph demonstrates the favourite sport of people in the US between 1985 and 2015. The coloured lines in the graph stand for different sport branches, such as American football, baseball, basketball, hockey and others.
The blue line represents American football, which has been the most appealing branch, with the highest proportion for 30 years. It started from 35% in 1985 and increased up to nearly 42% in 2015. Baseball had been the second most popular sport until 2010, with a decrease from 35% to 15%. This position was replaced by basketball in 2010, which rose to 25% in 2015. Hockey has never been one of the most popular branches. While more than 10% of the individuals were interested in hockey in 1985, it was less than 5% in 2015. Since 2005 other sports has been more attractive than hockey for the US citizens, with nearly 10%.
It is clearly shown in the figure that American football has always been the most appealing sport branch. Even basketball, the second most popular sport, has never been able to compete against it.
