The line graph illustrates the number of complaints made about noise to Environmental Health authorities in the city of Newtown between 1980 and 1996.
Overall, it is evident that all of the categories fluctuated throughout the years, however complaints about road works had the highest number of complaints in 1996 and household noise had the lowest and the numbers being slightly higher than 1200 and almost 100 respectively, even though both started at quite a similar rate.
To begin with, road works and traffic noise followed a similar trend from 1980 to 1988 with traffic noise being slightly lower by almost 200 complaints. Moreover, both complaints started rising with traffic noise ending at 600 complaints in 1996.
