The line graph illustrates the number of inquiries received by a Tourist Information Company in a particular country over a six-month period in 2011.
Overall, it is clear that face-to-face inquiries increased dramatically and became the most popular method by the end of the period. Inquiries made by telephone also showed an upward trend, whereas those sent by letter or email declined steadily throughout the six months.
At the beginning of the period, in January, face-to-face inquiries were the least common, standing at only 400. However, this figure rose steadily over the following months and overtook telephone inquiries in April, reaching approximately 1,300. From that point onward, in-person inquiries remained the dominant method until the end of the period.
In contrast, the number of inquiries made by telephone started at around 900 in January. This figure experienced minor fluctuations during the first four months before increasing sharply from about 1,000 to 1,600 in the final two months. Meanwhile, inquiries sent by letter and email remained stable during the last two months before falling dramatically by around 500, reaching a low of approximately 300 in June.
