The line graph describes how many visitors went to a Caribbean island for vacation from 2010 to 2017.
Overall, the numbers of tourists staying on cruise ships and on the island both grew, albeit to varying degrees, and so did the total count of tourists visiting the island.
In detail, the most striking increase was recorded in the number of tourists staying on cruise ships. Following a period of fluctuation between 0.25 and 0.5 million visitors in the first four years, the figure for cruise ship tourists rose gradually to an all-time high of 2 million in 2017.
Although the number of visitors staying on the island also increased, it followed a somewhat different trajectory. It remained constant at 0.75 million visitors until 2011, and within the next two years this figure had doubled, reaching 1.5 million. Following that, the number of island tourists plateaued, with the exception of a dip to 1.25 million in 2016.
Finally, the total count of visitors to the island saw substantial growth, going from a mere 1 million at the beginning to 3.5 million tourists in 2017 – more than a threefold increase.
