The line chart illustrates the percentages of world-wide music being sold in three different ways between 2011 and 2018.
Looking from a general perspective,it is readily apparent that all approaches lost their popularity over the period except for streaming method, where music sales experienced significant rise ,becoming the most effective technique.
In 2011,downloads and CD purchaces started from 35 and 55,respectively,before beginning to converge in the same year.Between 2013 and 2014 ,the proportion of music sold by downloads was the same as by CDs(around 40).Download rates surpassed CD purchaces, with the latter continuing to decline moderately for the remainder of the surveyed timeframe. The former, however, climbed marginally to just above 40 in the middle of 2014,before falling at roughly the same rate as the latter for the rest of the period.
In contrast, there was an upward trend in the streams overall.Starting off with the lowest music sales of 5 in 2011,it increased sharply to above 40 in 2018,exceeding the rest of the methods and generally becoming the highest figure.
