The chart depics the difference of self employed workers of total workforce in 5 countries from 1998 to 2008.

Overall, while there were a trend increase of the figure of independent workers in almost of countries in the following years, Greece and Turkey which had higher numbers than other countries, decreased dramtically over the span of 10 years.

In 1998, Russian republic, Skovakia, Czech republic all accounted for a very small percentage of self employed operators, particularly about 5 percent in Russia, 7 percent in Slovakia and over 10% in Czech public. However, the figure of employee in Greece was over 4 times higher than Czech, accounting for about 42 percent in 1998. Furthermore, Turkey reached the peak point in the number of independent employee, achieved nearly 55 percent.

Concerning to 2008, Russian republic rose slightly from about 5% to 7%, Skolvaka accounted for over 10 percent which was higher than it before. Czech republic increase dramatically to nearly 15%. While there were a rise in almost of countries, Greeace significantly decreased from 42 percent to about 35 percent. It was showed Turkey had remarkable jump to under 40% in 2008.
