Overall, services had the highest percentage of the workforce. The lowest worker attribution was in mining. Among the five industries, manufacturing, and agriculture had a downward trajectory, while the trends of mining, construction, and services were going up.
At first glance, in 1962, services employees took up to more than 50% and steadily increased to almost 80% in the next 50 years. The proportion of workers in the construction industry started at around 10% and maintained its position until 2012. Mining also experienced the same progress, beginning at 0% and slightly going up to just a little bit over 0%.
The manufacturing and agriculture workforce both had a gradual decline from 2962 to 2012. The year 1962 witnessed the start of manufacturing and agriculture at around 25% and 10% respectively. Over the next 50 years, the manufacturing employees percentage dropped by 15%. At the same time, the trend of agriculture decreased by 10%, to only last just over than 0% in 2012.
