The given visual depicts the manufacture of three types of forest industry products: timber, pulp and paper, in a European country between 1980 and 2000.
Overall, it is clear from the line graph that two of the products, pulp and paper, throughout the given period, showed an upward trend. In contrast to them, timber with some fluctuations showed a downward trend.
In the beginning, while paper production increased gradually, pulp production showed sharp drop, but eventually, by the year 1985 both productions reached 6 million tonnes or more. After that year, pulp manufacture had a gradual rise while paper production dropped suddenly after the year 1995 and after that drop it increased sharply, reaching 12 million tonnes in 2000.
Timber production on the other hand, is a different picture. Although, it started very well by increasing rapidly in the first five years from about 5 million to 10 million, After that year, it suddenly dropped and levelled off at 8 million tonnes. In 1995 it had dropped again slightly and until 2000 it added a few million tonnes and reached approximately 7 million tonnes.
